Position: Summer Preschool Teacher
Department: Summer Program
Reports to: Director of The Summer Program
Pay: Hourly pay based on qualifications and experience. No benefits.
Hours: 8:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
June 7 - July 19, 2024
No class on June 19, 2024 and July 4, 2024
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and present effective daily instruction for students ages 3-4
- Maintain daily attendance
- Assist with getting students to and from carline at arrival and dismissal.
- Communicate weekly with parent/guardians regarding experiences in the Preschool Room
- Facilitate a safe, social snack period for students
- Report any concerns to the Director of The Summer Program
- Provide a safe environment
- Supervise children on the playground
- Supervise staff and students in the canoes
- Supervise a Counselor Aide in the classroom
- Work collaboratively with other Preschool Teachers
- Develop a theme for each session including, language arts, STEAM, music, math, small and large motor activities
Requirements
- Certified Teacher
- 3 or more years of experience teaching experience
- Preference given to Early Childhood Teachers
- Understands and appreciates mission and philosophy of The Avery Coonley School and The Avery Coonley School Summer Program
